A Day For Yourself
Soften.
A one-day yoga retreat.
Be held by others, held by the practice, and take time to hold yourself, too.
A day to stop being so dang hard on yourself and give yourself kindness instead.
Soften is a full day to retreat from the demands of everyday life and recharge with compassion–for yourself and others. Throughout the day, we’ll explore what it means to soften. You can think of this as a softening of your body–to relax. But we’ll also dive a bit into softening in the way we speak to ourselves, respond to our thoughts, and move through the world.
If you’re the kind of person who feels beaten down by pressure, especially by the pressure you put on yourself, this is especially for you. Burned out? Exhausted? Life feeling like too much? This is an entire day where you can let go of the reins and practice not having to do so much–just for the day. Whether you’re new to yoga, practice occasionally, or are a long time yoga student, you’re welcome to come. There’s no particular experience level required.
Throughout the day you’ll get to enjoy:
Sunrise walk (optional)
Meditation
All levels yoga
Philosophy discussion & journaling
Catered lunch & snacks
Creative workshop
Yin yoga
Closing tea
We’ll begin before the world fully wakes up (especially for a Saturday). We’ll spend time in conversation as well as silent moments. There will be time together and time alone. You’ll have the space to choose when you want to join in on the group activity vs. spend time on your own; every activity is an invitation not a requirement.
Through movement, stillness, creativity, conversation, and a shared meal, we’ll spend the day practicing a different way of being than our lives usually ask of us. It’s not a day where you have to accomplish something more or be something different. It’s just a day where you get to arrive exactly where you are, breathe and laugh and communicate just as you are, and hopefully leave feeling more whole in everything that you already are.
Maybe you’ll leave feeling more rested. Maybe you’ll leave with a new friend, a fresh perspective, a calmer mind, or something else entirely. Whatever you take home, our hope is that you’ll leave with a seed of compassion planted in your heart and that you remember you can return to that feeling long after our day concludes.
